Rib Tickling Time Again!

It is nearly that time again so give us a call and come and join us at The Fox and Hounds at Tytherinton on the 3rd November for our Rib Tickling anniversary comedy club night.  Its going to be fab and funny as always.

NOEL BRITTEN
Local comic Noel Britten brilliantly combines very funny material and visual gags with abundant self-effacing charm and has to be the funniest comedy Magician since Tommy Cooper.  One of the most in demand comics in the UK, he has gigged throughout the world and is a hugely successful corporate performer.
In the West Country, he is well known for his Bizarre Bath comedy tours of his home City of Bath that have run nightly throughout the summer for the last 10 years which is highly recommended by all the major tourist books (“a great idea, superbly executed, and should be on every visitor’s itinerary” Choice Travel Guide), TV Travel shows (“brilliantly unforgettable” BBC’s Holiday Show), and has now reached the status of a “must do” for many visitors to Bath.

Sally-Anne cannot make it this time (boo, she’ll be back) so instead we have DAN THOMAS MCing (Hoorah)
Dan was a finalist in the Welsh Unsigned Stand Up Awards 2010 and the Loaded LAFTAS 2010, and was the winner of the inaugural South Wales Dog Eat Dog Stand Up contest.  He ventures regularly across the Severn Bridge to perform around the UK and in 2011  was selected to support Russell Kane on his national tour of the Perrier Award winning show “Smokescreens and Castles”.  He has also toured this year with Russell on his “Manscaping” tour.
“A barnstorming frenetic bastard after my own heart. Quality.”  (Russell Kane)
“Dynamic, dramatic, and funny. If you want comedy this guy is for real. Catch him while you can!”  (The Glee Club)
“Leading the next generation of Welsh comedy”  (24/7 Magazine)

LUKE BENSON
Geordie giant Luke Benson is an incredibly talented stand-up making waves on the comedy circuit. He has been performing stand up since 2007 and has made the finals of the Hackney Empire, Amused Moose, Leicester Square Theatre and Mirth Control competitions. He was nominated for he Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year Award, and londonisfunny.com named him as one of the Top 10 Comics to Look Out For in 2011.

“He looks the part, he’s got the talent, and it’s easy to imagine him on the telly”   (Sunday Times)
“A finely accomplished set…packed full of word-play. Effortless delivery that we’re sure to see more of in the future.”   (Chortle)

Tickets are ten pounds and you can book on 07976 752 427 or email us at ribticklerscomedyclub@gmail.com.

Open Mic Presents…

So on Thursday Rib Ticklers Comedy Club have fresh lambs to the slaughter of our comedy crib: Alex Keely –“ A young awkward gangly comedian trapped inside the body of a young, awkward gangly comedian.  Alex reached the 2011 finals of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition,  (previous finalists include Kevin Bridges, Rhod Gilbert, Jason Manford, Russell Howard and Reginald D. Hunter).”

Robin Cousins -
“ Behind that benign smile, his jokes come at an industrious pace. He takes a whimsical approach to observational comedy, cracking through the material fast enough so it remains inventive, rather than indulgent. It exposes the absurdities he sees in everyday targets from fishing to horse-racing without much dilly-dallying, building up a canon of reliable jokes at a rate that creates a substantial, original set. “   Chortle (new review)

We look forward to seeing both of them along side Sally-Anne Hayward, Mark Simmons and Nick Page.  It’s going to be a comedy feast.. Indeed, come for supper.

Nick Page Returns to the Fox and Hounds

Laugh away those post holiday blues. I am sure you are going to be as  delighted as mewhen I tell you that Nick Page returns to the Fox and Hounds!  This time for Rib Ticklers Comedy Club fans who have been waiting all summer and will be splitting their sides that the disgraced former Daytime TV presenter and convicted forger Nick Page will be our headline act.

Hilarious, cynical, and oddly loveable, big man Nick revels in publicly revealing the kind of stories most people would want locked in the darkest cupboard. His unique rapid fire delivery will leave you w…ondering how anyone can get through so many words so quickly, and how he’s escaped justice, or at least retribution, for so long.

Described by Rhod Gilbert as ‘The very best story teller on the comedy circuit’ and by Radio 1′s Jo Whiley as ‘a very fine man indeed’ Nick Page comes hot on the heels of his success at wowing the crowds at this year’s Guilfest.

Nick will be joined ace one-liner Mark Simmons, the brave open miccers and  our very own delicious compere Sally-Anne Hayward will be keeping us all in order for the whole night.
